The Christmas feast is one of the best moments of this wonderful holiday. Therefore, we also have to pay a little bit of attention to the way we decorate the table. It will certainly impress your guests!

It's important to match the table decorations with the ones in the Christmas tree and stick to the same decorating style. Do not clutter the table with too many ornaments or too many colors and try to keep it simple and elegant.

Here are some beautiful ideas for decorating your Christmas table. Enjoy!

It's almost the spookiest time of the year again and everybody is getting ready for the Halloween parties. Even if you're not hosting one, but you would like to enter the spirit of this holiday, here are some tips for decorating your home with style.

Tips before starting

Of course, the main Halloween theme is horror, but if you have small children, use funny decorations - you don't want to scare them too much. There are lots of funny pumpkins, spiders or creatures ready to deck your house.

The traditional colours are orange and black, but according to this year's trends we can also use metallic colours like bronze, gold and silver and also lots of white. Of course, you can personalize as you wish - there are some pretty cool pink or blue Halloween decorations, too!

And you shouldn't forget the pumpkin - in any form or colour you want. The pumpkin carving is also a very funny activity for you and your family or friends! A small tip: while carved pumpkins can hold up to a week, the whole ones can last up to a month! And for special effects, you can add candles or lights inside them.

It's important to not over-decorate. A house with too many decorations in too many different styles becomes overcrowded and not stylish anymore. You should choose one theme, in 2-3 main colours and stick to it.

Do not use too much light in the house: less is better. If you can use only some candles, it would be spookier!

So, think about the theme and colours and start with the porch and the front door. If you have a fireplace, then its mantle will be a perfect place for a little Halloween exhibition, if not... you can use a shelf or a table.

And remember: less is more.

If you love decorating your home, for sure you're just like me: you can't really wait until the next occasion to deck your house in the spirit of the holiday! I never actually celebrated Halloween, because it's not in the European culture, but I love all the decorations that come with it. I consider it a perfect excuse to change a bit the look of my home and have a some fun!

So, whether you are organizing a Halloween party or it's just the wish for a seasonal change, here are this year's Halloween trends, that I observed in the decor-stores.

Trend 1. Faux, shiny and painted pumpkins

It's fun to buy a real pumpkin, that you can eventually carve together with your friends or family, but it won't last forever and it doesn't look too elegant, either. So, if you're searching for a more stylish idea or for a decoration which you can use each year, than a fake pumpkin it's perfect for you. This year, it seems that faux glittering pumpkins are a must. You can find them in almost all decorations stores and they add a touch of glamour to your Halloween-themed decor.  If you like the idea, but still can't find one to buy, you can paint a simple plastic or a real one in gold, silver or bronze.

Trend 2. Halloween in Bordeaux colour

Because Bordeaux it's a trendy colour this autumn, it's also one of this Halloween's favourites. You will easily find Bordeaux decorations in the local interior design stores and you can match this warm colour with white, mustard-yellow and wooden elements.

Trend 3. Halloween in White and Orange

The traditional Halloween decorations are in black and orange, but this year it seems like white and orange is the better combination. It's true, this mix of colours isn't that dark and spooky anymore, but it suits a home that likes the light and the warmth.

If you like having a different Christmas tree every year, in 2013 you can enjoy a beautiful mix of traditional and modern colors and styles.

These are the 2013 Christmas trends:

1. Vintage

This year, we love the Vintage Luxe style. It's feminine, brightful and so romantic! Think about the old glass baubles, but in silver and gold. This style remembers us about the Victorian age, in pastel colors like pink, blue or turquoise. You can buy an artificial silver or golden tree and decorate it with pastel accesories.

2. Woodland

The nature lovers can enjoy this year a wonderful theme: the woodland. You can see it even in the most beautiful Christmas commercial this year, the John Lewis ad. You can use all the accessories that represent the forest: pine cones, deers, squirrels, foxes, owls, bird or berries.

3. Nordic / Scandinavian

This style come from the Scandinavian countries - Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway. You can use wooden decorations painted in white and red, with traditional motifs.

4. Monochrome

Black is not the perfect color for the Christmas, but it's a good choice for the ones who love minimalism. Black decorations can be paired with white, gold and silver, to offer a bit of sparkle. You can use a faux black or white Christmas tree, with accesories in geometric shapes, decorated with stars and crosses.

5. Traditional

The traditional style is always in the trends. Nothing is more beautiful than the green Christmas tree, with red and golden decorations.
